Could you please introduce yourself and tell us what you are up to?
I'm Metzly an alternative model based in France, I work as on of the managers of Spirit Of Metal the biggest metal website and metal community over here. I'm also a singer and lyricist, and I sometimes train as a photographer for metal bands around here. I am definately a meddler who loves being involved in every step of the music just
like in photography, I guess I need to be in and out of the spolights to understand things better and to be more performant.
What's your relation to metal music?
It's the rythme of my heart! I just can't live without it...I think I will always be around this music as I said on or off stage, it's my world, no matter what it's a part of me.
Any favourite bands?
Houuuu! Just to name a few: Satyricon, Dissection, Naglfar, Carpathian Forest, Emperor, Windir, Arcturus, Dawn, Evergrey, In Flames, Ministry, Rotting Christ, Destruction, Death Angel, Old Mans Child, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Trivium, Amon Amarth, Finntroll, Slayer, Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Pantera, Thyrfing, Slipknot, old Metallica, WASP, AC/DC, Mercyful Fate, Kiss, Queen... Do you want me to keep going?! LOL! You really have great and amazing bands in Sweden...
Ever been with a rockstar?
Well if you can keep a secret I'll tell you...
Best concert you ever been to, and why?
Every concert is a magical moment to me, it's hard to pick one...But I guess Emperor at Wacken was just amazing, the crowd was really sick! And Ishan seemed so happy to come back, it was a great moment. And I would say also Dissection in Paris, right after Jon was released. I never heard such a good sound in a small venue, the band definately put the roof to the ground and then again the crowd was killer. After the gig Jon took some time to shake hands with us and thanked his fans a long time even with the lights on. You know this band was already a legend and now that Jon passed away...well I'm glad to say I saw Dissection live once in my life! These two concerts were totally mind blowing.
What kind of guys turn you on?
The kind of guys who have a natural charisma and who don't try to behave like stars to get attention. It's all in the attitude, a natural, smart and confident person with a beautiful soul... Many girls would say I'm a dreamer but it does exist!
What should a guy do to take you home?
Well he should probably get me wasted first lol!! No seriously, I think a guy has to make me enjoy his company and open up his soul and heart to me, it's hard to get my confidence and I'm a "wild animal" anyway, it's pretty hard to catch me!
Rate these rockstars on a 1 - 10 scale and tell us why you graded them like this.
Tommy Lee: 2 I'm not a big Mötley Crüe fan
Ozzy Osbourne: 3 I'm not into the "Osbourne mania" either, I don't know maybe I was born too late...Black Sabbath never been one of my favorit bands.
Bruce Dickinson: 9 excellent vocalist
James Hetfield: 10 Metallica man!!! What can I say!
Nikki Sixx: 5 I like his style but then again I'm not a big MC fan
Paul Stanley: 6 I want his kickass boots!!
Lemmy: 8 The best hard rock band ever
Gene Simons: 6 Good band and amazing tongue !
Axl Rose: 8 I really like Guns n' Roses, I'd have loved so much to see them live 15 years ago but I was a bit too young!
Where the hell is Blackie Lawless????
What are your plans for the future?
I have so many projects! I guess one whole life won't be enough to fulfill all of them...It mostly revolves around music and photography, it takes quite a long time for me to fulfill everything because I don't wanna make mistakes and I choose carefully the people I work with especially in photography, but so far so good! I wanna keep working with bands and modeling, and why not mixing the two! Doing album artworks or shooting music videos like I did for a french band. I also want to keep travelling and extend my experience with people aboard.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?
It's already hard to see myself in a month! But I'll still be in the music industry for sure, still singing and writting songs, maybe for other bands why not, maybe I'll be producing metal events, maybe still modeling...My main goal is to keep doing what I love doing the most and being successful in doing it, as long as my passion and my love for my job last I'll keep going no matter what. We're only given one life I don't wanna waste my time dreaming of what my life could be, I wanna live
this dream.
Any advice for girls that want to get in to the business?
Be smart girls. Know exactly where your limits are and don't hesitate to say "no" when needed. There will always be photographers trying to push these limits further, so be careful not to get into something you could regret later on. If you don't feel at ease with a photographer just don't work with him, the result wouldn't be good job anyway.
Remember that you work with your body, it's not a simple tool it is YOUR body and your pictures will be around forever, then again know what you feel like doing or not. And never ever go to a photoshoot without leaving to someone all the informations you have on the photographer even if you trust him. Finally you must be aware that you're gonna be exposed and some wakkos will try to reach you, so be
selective and not naive.
Any last words to the readers of GetMetal?
Thank you for stopping by and reading these lines! If you ever see me around a gig say hi! And thank you Peter for your kindness and support I really appreciate it.
