INTERVJU - MIKA LUTTINEN, IMPALED NAZARENE
First of all, how have you kept IMPALED NAZARENE going as a band for all those years?
- By the power of Satan, alcohol, sex and goats. It has not been an easy ride but as long as we are enjoying ourselves, we will continue to cause chaos and misery around the world.
You have a new album out, could you tell us about it?
- Manifest was recorded and mixed at Sonic Pump studio by Tapio Pennanen and it was mastered at Finnvox studio by Mika Jussila. 16 tracks of goat sodomizing Impaled Nazarene with a better production than previously. Out on digipack, jewelcase and double 10" ep vinyl. Buy or die.
How would you compare this one to your previous records?
- If you compare it to the previous Impaled Nazarene records, it is same shit, different cover.
What does the song writing process look like in the band?
- We compose individually at home. Then we meet at rehearsal place to see and hear what kind of crap everybody and their mother has come up with. We keep the best songs and others go to trash. Everybody writes music.
What do you think of the metal scene today?
- Too much product. Shit product that is. And I might add that I hate new metal to the bone.
Are there any touring plans?
- Some festivals and that´s it.
How would you describe the band for someone who hasn´t heard you?
- Extreme and fast metal with irritating vocals. Buy or die.
What´s the future plans for IMPALED NAZARENE?
- Festivals and slowly start writing new songs and drink alcohol to compensate shitty daily live and wonder why we do not sell as much as COB.
When you look back at your career, what has been the highlights so far?
- Pretty much you can throw in foreign shows/tours. Japan, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. In Europe Italy, France, Greece, Spain, Portugal. And so on. Of course getting signed was cool in the first place.
What are you feelings about people downloading your songs on the internet?
- There is nothing we can do about it so I have no comments.
Any advice for young bands that want to make it in the music business?
- Yes. Learn your own fucking mistakes.
Any last words to the readers of GetMetal.com?
- May Satan shit blood on people one day. Day of reckoning is getting closer and 2012 is the moment of truth. Sheep will weep and Satan keeps on laughing.
