-May 19, 1995: AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd rejoins for the Ballbreaker sessions.

-May 19, 1998: SEPULTURA record a song, "Hatred Inside", with METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted at his house in San Francisco. The song is written by the band and Jason and features Jason on bass/vocals.

-May 20, 1967: JIMI HENDRIX signs his first American record contract with Reprise Records.

-May 20, 1992: AEROSMITH donate $10,000 to support "Corporal Politics," a controversial art exhibition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

-May 20, 1996: 'Until It Sleeps', the first single from Metallica's Load hits radio.

-May 20, 1998: Tommy Lee (METHODS OF MAYHEM) starts serving a 6 month sentence for felony spousal abuse.

-May 20, 2001: KISS guitarist ACE FREHLEY is inducted into The Bronx Walk Of Fame as part of the 30th Annual Bronx Week Celebration.

-May 20, 1967: JIMI HENDRIX signs his first American record contract with Reprise Records.

-May 21, 1976: AEROSMITH receive a gold LP for Rocks. The album will eventually go to #3 on the album chart.

-May 21, 1981: IRON MAIDEN embark on their first tour of Japan - four sold out shows.

-May 21, 1985: the superstar Hear N' Aid recording session takes place.

-May 22, 1969: THE WHO's Tommy is released.

-May 22, 1979: KISS' Dynasty is released.

-May 22, 1980: an unknown thief breaks into Electric Lady Studios in New York City, the recording studio built by Jimi Hendrix, and steals five Hendrix gold records. They are for the albums Are You Experienced?, Axis: Bold As Love, Cry Of Love, Rainbow Bridge and Live At Monterey.

-May 22, 2000: BLAZE releases his Silicon Messiah album.

-May 22, 2000: former IRON MAIDEN vocalist Blaze Bayley returns with a new band simply titled BLAZE and their new album, Silicon Messiah.

-May 23, 2000: RAVEN release One For All.

-May 23, 2002: MANOWAR hold a listening party for their new album, Warriors Of The World, at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

-May 24, 1978: VAN HALEN's debut album goes gold.

-1996: ANTHRAX leave Elektra Records.
-1997: WARRANT guitarist Erik Turner goes on hiatus for health reasons.

-1997: PRETTY BOY FLOYD partially reforms.
-1997: MOTLEY CRUE's 'Afraid', the first single from the reunion album, Generation Swine is released.
-1997: SEBASTIAN BACH confirms that he has NOT quit SKID ROW, although he wouldn't say when the next album would be out. He continues to pump his side project, THE LAST HARD MEN.

-1998: it is reported that the remaining members of SKID ROW are calling their new project OZONE MONDAY. The band, minus vocalist Sebastian Bach, includes bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Scotti Hill and Dave "Snake" Sabo, and drummer Rob Affuso, alongside new vocalist/guitarist Shawn McCabe.

-1998: TED NUGENT enters the world of beef jerky with his own line of dried meat called Gonzo Meat Biltong.

-1998: DREAM THEATER's Derek Sherinian and John Myung, along with drummer Rod Morgenstein (DIXIE DREGS/WINGER) and guitarist Ty Tabor (KING'S X) join together in a side band called PLATYPUS.

-1998: BLACK SABBATH drummer BILL WARD is forced to skip the European Ozzfest gigs with the reunited Sabbath after being hospitalised on Wednesday, May 20. Ward's replacement is Vinny Appice. As well, OZZY OSBOURNE states that if Sabbath were to work on a studio record, it would only be released if it was "better than PAGE and PLANT's."

-1998: PARADISE LOST ink a deal with EMI Germany.

-2000: HELIX starts writing for their next CD with Mike Hall and Jerry Finn, both formerly of KILLER DWARFS.

-2000: Earache Records signs a digital music delivery agreement with EMusic.com.

-2000: TED NUGENT criticizes KISS for not allowing the madman to jam with them. Says Ted, "you're darn right we don't (jam), because they don't know how to play. That doesn't take away from the heart and soul they dedicate to their craft. Their craft doesn't emphasize musicality. They're too busy with the cartoon thing and that's not a criticism. I love what they do".

-2001: VOIVOD part ways with singer Eric Forrest.

-2001: METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich and his wife Skylar welcome a new baby boy, Layne.

-2001: The BLACK CROWES are inducted into the famous RockWalk on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.
