WHITESNAKE-LIVE RIO DE JANERIO

Vår utsände skribent i Rio rapporterar från spelningen med Whitesnake...

Hanging on the promises and songs of yesterday.

The fans who packed Claro Hall in Rio de Janeiro, in that rainy Thursday night, certainly had the feeling that they were back in the 70’s. Without new songs or recent hits, Coverdale with his voice in great shape and same energy from 20 years ago, opened with Deep Purple’s classic “Burn” to set the house on fire, leading thousands of fans to absolute madness.
And that was only the beginning! The crowd could barely take a breath when another power rock and roll hit came along. “Bad Boys” kept the house burning, until it finally exploded with “Love Ain't no Stranger” and “Give me all your love”. Completing the set list, “Slow an Easy”, “Here I go again”, “Crying in the Rain”, “Is this love” and “Still of the Night.”

Keeping the tradition of virtuosity and skilled musicians, Whitesnake came with a respectable line up: Reb Beach (guitar - ex-Winger), Doug Aldrich (guitar - ex-Dio), Uriah Duffy (bass), Timothy Drury (keyboards) and the legendary drummer Tommy "the hand" Aldridge helped Coverdale to bring back the energy that has always been an intrinsic attribute in the Whitesnake's personality, and that has been missing on the Restless Heart tour.

Whitesnake is there to show that Rock and Roll is definitely not dead.

And there they go again.
